IronMen Ministries welcomes our very own Jay Carter this Friday, September 25th at 6:00 AM at the Prayer Breakfast.. Come hear Jay give testimony on what God is doing in and thru his life. You had last week off, so there should be no excuses not to be there this Friday morning. Reach out and invite someone new or someone who hasn’t been there in a while. We look forward to what God has in store for us all on Friday.
No Prayer Breakfast this Friday, September 18th
Attention: No Prayer Breakfast this Friday (Sept. 18)!!!
Due to huge requirements of the Golden Olympics events held in our city this week, we will not be able to meet in any of the city facilities. Unfortunately, we were not aware of this until it was too late to adjust to another plan. Therefore, we WILL NOT MEET THIS FRIDAY (Sept. 18th) but will be there bright and early on Sept. 25th with a special speaker and meal. We’ve not had a good warm breakfast in a while so now seems as good a time as any. I’ll miss you all this week and keep you in my prayers. Hope to see each one of you on the 25th. (Russ)

Family Promise – Car City 2015 – Putting the “Brakes” on Homelessness
CAR CITY – Putting the Brakes on Homelessness : Family Promise of Greater Houston County is excited to hold its’ Second Annual fall event beginning 5 PM Friday, September 25, at Central Georgia Technical College. Volunteers and community leaders will spend the night in their cars to experience homelessness for one night, in an effort to raise awareness for homeless children and their families in Houston County. The event will culminate with breakfast on Saturday morning, September 26. Last year youth groups, volunteers, political, military, corporate, educational, and religious citizens felt the cold of a 40 degree night in November. A warmer evening this year will offer the “homeless experience” without the extreme cold temperatures.
Participants will experience a soup line for supper yet enjoy a night of activities and entertainment as we seek to educate the community on the realities of homelessness. In the 2014-15 school year the Houston County Board of Education counted over 327 homeless children in the school system. We also know from national averages that for every one they count we can estimate 1-2 more that are outside the system. Family Promise is the only organization that addresses this issue with respect and dignity for keeping the family together.
CAR CITY is also a fund raiser………participants may obtain sponsors to pay for their “Parking Space” for a minimum of $100 per vehicle. In addition businesses, organizations, and individuals will be offered the opportunity to sponsor “Parking Lots” – Diamond Sponsors will provide the “Priority Lot”; Ruby Sponsors will provide the “Prime Lot”; Sapphire Sponsors, the “Reserved Lot”; and Emerald Sponsors, the “Fleet Lot”.
